Thread extensions or Brazilian loose pique, a Brazilian technique: Let your hair run free!
Share
Also known as the Brazilian hair extension. After keratin extensions, Piqué-lâché is the technique that gives a very natural effect and lasts at least 3 months without losing its beauty.
The real hair comes in small bundles, root with root, and tip with tip in the same direction. The hair is just cut and conditioned. It needs to be "piqué and lâché" strand by strand onto the hair using small, very thin special elastic bands called "lastex." It's very easy to wash with shampoo and dry naturally or with a hairdryer. Sold in packs of 50 or 100 grams.
This method makes shampooing and drying (natural or with a hairdryer) easy. This technique does not damage or break the hair.

The Brazilian piqué lâché is a form of hair extension that enhances women's beauty and thus boosts their self-esteem. The Brazilian piqué lâché uses elastic thread called "lastex" in Brazil for attachment and therefore does not damage the hair. In this article, we will clarify some doubts about this type of extension.
To lengthen and add volume to hair, Brazilians use piqué lâché as the best alternative for hair extensions. Among many techniques, Brazilian piqué lâché has been widely used because it gives a more natural look to hair and strands.
Great Brazilian actresses such as Adriana Esteves, Isis Valverde, and Viviane Araujo have also used the method.
You must be wondering what differentiates piqué lâché from other types of hair extensions, right?
The hair is cut and conditioned before being "piqué" strand by strand onto the hair with Lastex (small elastic bands).
Well, to begin, the extension is done by fusing the strands with lastex (elastic thread).
But what is lastex?
Lastex are elastic threads that can be found in a shade similar to the natural color of the hair to be attached.
Piqué lâché uses the technique of attaching strands one by one to the hair using elastic bands.
Like all aesthetic procedures, piqué lâché must be performed by a professional who understands the technique and the procedure. Maintenance after application must be consistent so that the hair is not damaged.
Brazilian piqué lâché can be applied with the following techniques:
* Only a few strands: applied to add volume or cover imperfections;
* Strand by strand in the middle of the head: applied to the sides and nape of the neck, the strands give more volume and length;
* Strand by strand all over the head: applied all over the head, ideal for lengthening short hair and creating a lot of volume.
But after all, can everyone get Brazilian piqué lâché?
Yes, Brazilian piqué lâché can be used by all women as it is suitable for all hair types. Many hairdressers believe that this technique is excellent for afro hair, as the elastic provides more resistance to the application. Others recommend it to anyone in hair transition or experiencing hair loss due to straightening, too much bleaching, or any other external aggression; the Brazilian Piqué-lâché with elastic bands method is the ideal technique for lengthening hair, as the "piqué" is done at the root and the "lâché" is done 2 cm from the root.
Also, the Brazilian Piqué-lâché is the most suitable method for people with short, very short, but also long hair.
The method adapts to all hair lengths and all textures: kinky hair, straight hair, curly hair, or frizzy hair...
There are several types of Brazilian piqué-lâché:
Traditional piqué-lâché, layered piqué-lâché, Brazilian touch piqué-lâché, thrown piqué-lâché, braided piqué-lâché, ...
Are there any contraindications?
There are no contraindications. But since the technique requires more contact with the scalp, some hairdressers prefer not to use it on clients with hypersensitivity to the scalp, thus avoiding possible discomfort.
How is maintenance done?
Maintenance of the Brazilian piqué lâché takes place between the second and fourth month after application. During maintenance, the elastic bands are cut so that the client's hair is ready for a new application, if necessary.
You must be aware of the special precautions to take every day to preserve hair and extensions. Use a wide-tooth comb for curly or wavy hair and a normal comb or brush for straight hair.
In order to keep your hair always beautiful and radiant, we have decided to give you all the necessary care for maintaining your piqué lâché.
* Keep the root clean and dry;
* Brush hair carefully, remembering to use the special scalp brush, the paddle-shaped one;
* Never use fine combs; use wide-tooth ones;
* Moisturize hair every 15 days;
* Perform necessary salon maintenance (repositioning);
* Be careful with excessive use of hairdryer and straightener;
* Shampoo, conditioner, revitalizer, or moisturizing mask can be the same as those already used with your own hair. However, for those with oily roots or dandruff, we recommend anti-dandruff shampoos and hair tonics for the root followed by a good mask on the extensions.
* When washing hair, respect scalp care by massaging it with light circular movements; do not rub the extensions for fear of tangling them;
* Wash extensions along their length, always detangle extensions with the paddle brush while washing hair;
If you frequently go to the beach or the pool, pay special attention to the Brazilian piqué lâché. Here are some tips:
* Make sure the root is not wet for a long time;
* Wear a specific sun protector for hair or a leave-in cream;
* Tying hair is a way to prevent it from breaking; one or two braids are most recommended by hairdressers, as they do not stress the root;
Please note that these same precautions can be taken when practicing outdoor activities or at the gym.
Unlike keratin extensions, in the absence of glue or chemicals during application or removal, piqué lâché has been considered a natural technique and is therefore often chosen in Brazil among other forms of extensions.
Brazilian piqué lâché has another advantage: during application, no intense heat process is used during fusion, which makes this type of hair extension more natural.
It is important to note that the Brazilian piqué lâché technique can be applied to all hair lengths: short, medium, and long. Damaged, brittle hair, with excessive shedding, or even healthy hair, thin or thick, that needs more volume or greater length.
Although Brazilian piqué lâché is highly recommended for afro hair, this technique is widely applied and perfectly suited for European, Maghrebi, straight, and blonde hair.
Attention: Remember to consult a trusted professional before deciding on the technique you want to use to lengthen your hair!
If you decide to use Brazilian piqué lâché as a technique for your extensions, whether for a specific time or long term, remember that the secret to keeping your hair beautiful and radiant is to preserve the health of your hair fiber and scalp. Maintenance is essential in this regard.
No matter what type of hair you have. What really matters is your desire to renew your look.
